I have finally discovered digital painting in Photoshop. idrawgirls.com has some great digital painting tutorials. The technique is so painterly, no airbrushing. It's a much more organic approach.

Love this. I get excited about adding textured layers to photos before I print them on fabric for projects. If I experimented more with Photoshop it looks like I might never make it to the project table! lol These are really fun and just beautiful.
